For a leading regional publisher, we created Magic Ads, an innovative advertising solution that enables companies of all sizes to automatically create professional advertising banners and display them in a targeted manner on the publisher's websites, which receive millions of visits.
High costs, low returns – challenges in advertising sales
Many small and medium-sized businesses struggle to create appealing and effective online advertising. They often lack the resources, creative capacity or technical expertise to develop banner ads that are tailored to their target audience and have a persuasive impact.
In addition, traditional ad sales for publishers are often an economic problem for small businesses: the personnel and time required for individual creation and sales usually far exceed the revenue generated.
A more efficient and scalable solution is therefore urgently needed.
How does a publishing house use AI to increase AD revenue?
The main challenge was to fully automate the entire banner creation process while effectively integrating the specific content of customer websites or business listings.

AI powered banner app reduces effort and increases revenue
Magic Ads is an app that automatically crawls websites and creates appealing, customised banners based on their content.
The integrated AI also generates a suitable slogan and call to action. In addition, the app automatically suggests an optimal target group, allowing companies to place professional online advertisements without any prior knowledge.
For publishers, this means a drastic reduction in sales and production costs, combined with significantly higher scalability.
Together with the publisher, we tested various prototypes with the target group in several iterations and continuously optimised them based on feedback. This allowed us to ensure that the app met the requirements of the target users and appealed to as wide a range of industries as possible.
Um möglichst passende Werbebanner zu erstellen, haben wir einen Webcrawler und KI kombiniert, um automatisiert passende Bannerinhalte zu generieren. Zudem werden Banner-Slogans und Call-to-Action Buttons von der KI vorgeschlagen. Automatisches Zielgruppen-Targeting wurde ebenfalls mithilfe einer spezifischen KI-Lösung implementiert.
While the API and all AI connections were developed with Laravel, the app was programmed entirely in Flutter. This enabled us to ensure that we could deliver not only native apps for iOS and Android, but also a responsive web app. The result was a consistent user experience for desktop, tablet and mobile devices.
More revenue for publishers with AI
In combination with our custom-developed CDP, the banners currently achieve high CTRs of up to 0.47% (4.7 clicks per 1,000 impressions). This is a high value for banner ads (display ads) on news portals.
